Barbara Beckmann
Als vielseitige Künstlerin – Pianistin, Sängerin, Chorleiterin und Regisseurin – entwickelt Barbara Beckmann Bühnenformate, in denen sich Klang, Bewegung und Präsenz zu einem stimmigen Ganzen verbinden. Mit der Gründung des internationalen TIN - Festivals für Vokale Improvisation setzte sie internationale Maßstäbe und gilt als Pionierin innovativer Konzertdramaturgie. Ihr feines Gespür für Wirkung, Atmosphäre und Ausdruck macht sie zur gefragten Dozentin und Coach für moderne Improvisationsformate. So wirkt sie als Dozentin für Improvisation an der Liedakademie im Fachbereich Gesang der Musikhochschule Köln. Im Rahmen der Voccologne inspiriert sie Ensembles und Solist:innen dazu, ihr schöpferisches Potenzial zu mobilisieren und mit Authentizität, Präzision und Spielfreude auf die Bühne zu bringen. Barbara Beckmann hat eine klassische Ausbildung an der Robert-Schumann-Hochschule Düsseldorf für Klavier und Gesang und studierte Jazz an der Hochschule der Künste in Arnheim. Sie beschäftigt sich sowohl mit Improvisation (u.a. bei Rhiannon/USA) als auch mit Komposition, beispielsweise für das Fußballmusical „95Ole“ am Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus. Neben Chorleitung in Jazz/Pop und Kinderchorarbeit ist sie als Ensemblemitglied im „Kom(m)ödchen“ und in dem Duo Schiffer/Beckmann aktiv.

As a versatile artist—pianist, singer, choir director, and stage director—Barbara Beckmann develops stage formats in which sound, movement, and presence combine to form a harmonious whole. With the founding of the international TIN Festival for Vocal Improvisation, she set international standards and is considered a pioneer of innovative concert dramaturgy. Her keen sense of effect, atmosphere, and expression makes her a sought-after lecturer and coach for modern improvisation formats. She is a lecturer for improvisation at the Liedakademie in the vocal department of the Cologne University of Music. As part of Voccologne, she inspires ensembles and soloists to mobilize their creative potential and bring it to the stage with authenticity, precision, and enthusiasm. Barbara Beckmann received classical training in piano and voice at the Robert Schumann University of Music in Düsseldorf and studied jazz at the Arnhem Academy of Arts. She is involved in both improvisation (including with Rhiannon/USA) and composition, for example for the soccer musical “95Ole” at the Düsseldorf Schauspielhaus. In addition to conducting jazz/pop choirs and working with children's choirs, she is an active member of the “Kom(m)ödchen” ensemble and the Schiffer/Beckmann duo.

Jan-Hendrik Herrmann
Jan-Hendrik Herrmann studierte Schulmusik und Latin Percussion an der Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln. Als Bariton und Beatboxer der a cappella-Band „Soundescape“ und als Leiter des Jazzchores der Universität Bonn gewann er mit beiden Ensembles Preise auf nationalen und internationalen a cappella-Festivals und -Wettbewerben. Als Chorleiter, Stimmbildner und Vocalcoach ist er für Workshops, Coachings und Fortbildungen bundesweit unterwegs und arbeitete u.a. mit dem WDR Rundfunkchor, der Kölner A Cappella-Gruppe „basta“ und als musikalischer Berater und Coach bei der WDR-Sendung „Der beste Chor im Westen“. Seine Chor-Arrangements sind im Schott-, Carus-, Bosse-, Helbling- und Ferrimontana-Verlag erschienen und werden von namhaften Chören gesungen. Er unterrichtet Arrangement, Pop- und Jazzchorleitung und Gruppenmusizieren an der Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln, sowie als regelmäßiger Gastdozent an der Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Künste Frankfurt a.M.

Jan-Hendrik Herrmann studied school music and Latin percussion at the Cologne University of Music and Dance. As baritone and beatboxer of the a cappella band “Soundescape” and as director of the University of Bonn Jazz Choir, he won prizes with both ensembles at national and international a cappella festivals and competitions. As a choir director, voice trainer, and vocal coach, he travels throughout Germany giving workshops, coaching sessions, and training courses. He has worked with the WDR Radio Choir, the Cologne a cappella group “basta,” and as a musical advisor and coach on the WDR program “Der beste Chor im Westen” (The Best Choir in the West). His choral arrangements have been published by Schott, Carus, Bosse, Helbling, and Ferrimontana and are sung by renowned choirs. He teaches arrangement, pop and jazz choir conducting, and group music-making at the Cologne University of Music and Dance, as well as being a regular guest lecturer at the Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts.

Jennifer Kothe
Jennifer Kothe ist tätig als Sängerin, Arrangeurin, Komponistin und Vocal Coach für Jazz/Pop/Musical Gesang. Sie war Dozentin an der School Of Popular Arts in Berlin und ist ein gefragter Vocal Coach im Raum Berlin und Dresden. Sie studierte Jazz&Pop-Gesang an der Hochschule für Musik Hanns-Eisler und dem Jazzinstitut Berlin (JIB). Sie war Mitbegründerin der Vocal Band ONAIR, die sämtliche Preise der internationalen A-cappella-Wettbewerbe gewonnen hat und schreibt Songs für ihre Band LÜX. Als Solistin arbeitet sie mit verschiedenen Bands und Musikern aus dem Bereich des Jazz und Pop. Sie ist eine erfahrene und gefragte Studiosängerin und singt regelmäßig Hörbeispiele für den Helbling- Verlag ein. Sie ist die Stimme von verschiedenen Radiojingles und wirkt in Serienproduktionen großer Streamingdienste mit. Sie singt außerdem für Großevents, wie der Feierlichkeiten zum Tag der deutschen Einheit am Brandenburger Tor, oder der Eröffnungsfeier der Special Olympics im Berliner Olympiastadion. Als Komponistin und Sängerin ist sie zur Zeit mit ihrem indiepop Projekt LÜX unterwegs. Hier schreibt sie zusammen mit dem Pianisten und Produzenten Simon Anke eigene Songs, wovon bereits 2 Stücke auf dem MDR Kultur zu hören sind. Seit 2025 ist sie außerdem ihrem Herzenchor „Jazzvocals“ (Berlin) wieder beigetreten. Sie lebt und arbeitet als Sängerin, Arrangeurin, Komponistin und Vocal Coach in Berlin und Dresden.

Jennifer Kothe works as a singer, arranger, composer, and vocal coach for jazz/pop/musical singing. She was a lecturer at the School of Popular Arts in Berlin and is a sought-after vocal coach in the Berlin and Dresden area. She studied jazz and pop singing at the Hanns Eisler Academy of Music and the Jazz Institute Berlin (JIB). She co-founded the vocal band ONAIR, which has won all the prizes at international a cappella competitions, and writes songs for her band LÜX. As a soloist, she works with various bands and musicians in the field of jazz and pop. She is an experienced and sought-after studio singer and regularly records audio samples for Helbling-Verlag. She is the voice of various radio jingles and appears in series productions for major streaming services. She also sings for major events, such as the German Unity Day celebrations at the Brandenburg Gate or the opening ceremony of the Special Olympics at Berlin's Olympic Stadium. As a composer and singer, she is currently on tour with her indie pop project LÜX. Here, she writes her own songs together with pianist and producer Simon Anke, two of which can already be heard on MDR Kultur. Since 2025, she has also rejoined her beloved choir “Jazzvocals” (Berlin). She lives and works as a singer, arranger, composer, and vocal coach in Berlin and Dresden.

Julia Zipprick
Julia Zipprick ist Jazzsängerin, Komponisitin und Gesangslehrerin und lebt in Köln. Sie ist in dem Improvisationskollektiv VokalOrchester NRW, der lateinamerikanisch-kölschen Band AMAGO, mit ihrem eigenen Programm und als Solistin für Bigband und Jazzensembles aktiv. In den letzten Jahren arbeitete sie u.a. zusammen mit dem Glenn Miller Orchestra, Theo Bleckmann und Rhiannon.
Julia ist diplomierte Gesangspädagogin und autorisierte CVT- Lehrerin und unterrichtet an der Universität Köln, der Folkwang Universität der Künste Essen und der Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Frankfurt populären Gesang, Fachdidaktik und vokale Improvisation. Darüber hinaus gibt sie Fortbildungen und Vocal-Coachings, u.a. für den deutschen Musikrat, den deutschen Chorverband und viele bekannte Chöre. Sie war u.a. 2023 Jurorin beim deutschen Chorwettbewerb, 2024 Dozentin beim Aarhus Vocal Festival und 2025 bei der VocCologne. 2024 gründete sie das Cologne Voice Collective und organisiert hier im Team mit inspirierenden Kolleg*innen monatliche Vocal Jams, Workshops und Musikreisen. Julia studierte Jazzgesang und Gesangspädagogik (Diplom) an der Musikhochschule Köln, Complete Vocal Technique in Kopenhagen (autorisierte CVT -Lehrerin) und 2023 mit Rhiannon (All The Way In- Diplom). Fortbildungen in den Bereichen Improvisation, Estill Voice Technique, Flow, Lichtenberger u.a..

Julia Zipprick is a jazz singer, composer, and vocal coach based in Cologne. She is active in the improvisation collective VokalOrchester NRW, the Latin American-Cologne band AMAGO, with her own program, and as a soloist for big bands and jazz ensembles. In recent years, she has worked with the Glenn Miller Orchestra, Theo Bleckmann, and Rhiannon, among others.
Julia is a certified vocal pedagogue and authorized CVT teacher and teaches popular singing, subject didactics, and vocal improvisation at the University of Cologne, the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen, and the Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts. In addition, she gives advanced training and vocal coaching, including for the German Music Council, the German Choir Association, and many well-known choirs. Among other things, she was a juror at the German Choir Competition in 2023, a lecturer at the Aarhus Vocal Festival in 2024, and at VocCologne in 2025. In 2024, she founded the Cologne Voice Collective and, together with a team of inspiring colleagues, organizes monthly vocal jams, workshops, and music trips. Julia studied jazz singing and vocal pedagogy (diploma) at the Cologne University of Music, Complete Vocal Technique in Copenhagen (authorized CVT teacher), and in 2023 with Rhiannon (All The Way In diploma). She has also completed advanced training in improvisation, Estill Voice Technique, Flow, Lichtenberger, and more.
